Jackie
When Jackie was rescued in 2005 at the age of 24, she had had her entire mane and tail shaved off (to provide horsehair for antique restoration) and had been turned out in the pasture with the cows.
Not only was she not able to fend off the flies, she ate too much grass and foundered. Jackie could barely walk and was covered in "balls" of fat.
Now, at the age of 30, Jackie introduces the small children who visit to the joy of horses. She is still a feisty one, only her gray hair gives her age away. The kids groom her and take her for walks, and love to have their pictures taken with her. Jackie has her forever home here!
